Hampshire Virtual Maternity Tours

Updated: May 27, 2022

With hospital maternity tours currently on hold due to the pandemic, I have collated all the local virtual maternity tours which are likely to be of interest to those birthing in and around North Hampshire.

Normally (outside of Covid restrictions) we'd expect to do a tour of the hospital we were planning to birth at. This would not only help us feel more familiar with where we'd be birthing but it would also help us prepare for the journey to the hospital and ensure we knew where to go without getting in a panic on arrival.

Whilst we may not physically be able to visit our planned place of birth at the moment, it's certainly worth a look at the video tours of your preferred hospital or birth centre to help give you an idea of what you can expect when the big day arrives.

It's also worth looking at one or two other options which are local to you. Firstly it may be that you'd not considered an alternative but that actually you feel another option will be better able to support your wishes. Secondly , if it's a busy day at your first choice of birth place and they are full and unable to take you, you may be redirected to another local hospital to birth at. Being familiar with a few options in advance will help you feel prepared and calm, just in case there's a change of plan.

So here's the list:

And of course, there is always the option of having a homebirth - I'll let you do your own tour for that, but do also head over to the Blossom & Bloom friends Instagram page to find out more. Xx
